ND State Commission on National and Community Service will Host Day of Service with Senior Corps and Americorps Members April 11 in Fargo

What: The ND State Commission on National and Community Service will be hosting a day of service with Senior Corps and AmeriCorps Members April 11th around the Fargo Community.
When: Tuesday, April 11 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Where: Members will be volunteering at the following local organizations:
  • Youthworks: 317 S. University Dr., FargoVolunteers will clean the new Youthworks facility that will house families in need. 
  • Dress for Success: 219 NP Ave., FargoVolunteers will work on boutique displays by painting furniture/frames, hanging items, and making jewelry arrangements. 
  • Great Plains Food Bank: 1720 3rd Ave, FargoVolunteers will assist with repacking bulk items, labeling products, and constructing boxes. 
  • Project LINUS: Double Tree Hilton 825 E Beaton Dr., West FargoBlanketeers will be making blankets for children, ages 0 to 18, who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need of warmth and comfort. 
  • Red River Zoo: 4255 23rd Ave S, FargoVolunteers will clean the grounds and buildings at zoo to help prepare for the new year. 
  • River Keepers: Volunteers will assist in cleaning up the Red River front at various locations and help remove debris from the winter season. 
Why: The North Dakota State Commission on National & Community Service provides opportunities for North Dakotans to engage in service that addresses the state's and nation's educational, public safety, environmental, and other human needs. The Commission seeks to foster civic responsibility, strengthen the ties that bind us together as a people, and provide educational opportunity for those who make a substantial commitment to service. Aligned with the Corporation for National and Community Service's many initiatives, the North Dakota State Commission has also strategically combined Faith-Based and Community efforts in its commission membership and focus.
